The AI Hook Writer uses Claude AI to generate 5 alternative opening hooks for each clip, each targeting a different psychological trigger: curiosity ("You won't believe what happened..."), shock (a surprising stat or statement), story (narrative opening), humor (irony or self-deprecation), and authority ("After 10 years in this field..."). Each variant includes the target platforms it performs best on and an explanation of the persuasion mechanism. Available on Pro and Agency plans.

When you export a clip at 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5, ClipForge scales the frame to fill the new shape and crops from the center. Nothing detects or follows a speaker yet, so a subject near the edge of a wide shot can fall outside the crop. Footage framed near the middle, such as a single talking head, keeps its subject in view.

Captions come from OpenAI's Whisper speech-to-text model, which supports multiple languages and handles filler words, speaker overlap, and background noise. Accuracy depends on your audio: OpenAI publishes Whisper's error rates by language and condition (https://cdn.openai.com/papers/whisper.pdf), and ClipForge has not run a separate evaluation of its own, so we quote no figure here. Every caption is editable before export, and reviewing proper nouns and technical vocabulary is worth the minute it takes.

All uploaded videos are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Videos are stored in isolated cloud storage with strict access controls. Only your account can access your content, ClipForge staff cannot view your videos without explicit authorization during a support request.

Uploaded source videos are automatically deleted 30 days after processing unless you explicitly choose to retain them in your library. Exported clips remain available in your account for as long as your subscription is active. You can manually delete any file at any time, and deletion is permanent and irreversible.
